Rules & Conditions of Entry
1. Closing date for entries will be 28th February 2026. No entries will be accepted after this date.
2. Acknowledgement of entries cannot be given prior to the production of the programme. If this is required please enclose an S.A.E.
3. All Trophies awarded at the Festival Concert are the property of the Mansfield Music & Drama Festival. They should be returned at least 4 weeks before the next Festival. (01623 627636)
4. In the competition the decision of the adjudicator shall be final.
5. Certificates will be awarded to all competitors with 81 marks or more. Small trophies/medals are awarded to those age 16 and under. In other classes it will be at the discretion of the adjudicator.
6. A copy of Own Choice items must be provided for the adjudicator. Any photocopies will be retained by the Festival and destroyed.
7. Competitors not answering to number when called will be called again at the end of the class.
8. No competitor or member of the audience is permitted to approach the adjudicator during the session.
9. All school groups must be adequately supervised.
10. All entries to be paid either by cheque or into the Festival bank account.
11. In accordance with the Performing Rights Society rules, we cannot permit the recording of any performance by tape, video or phone – or any form of flash photography. The awards of certificates/trophies etc., can be photographed with the permission of the child/children involved.
12. The accurate timing of own choice items is vitally important to the running of the programme. Competitors who exceed the time limit will be penalised. Please keep to stated times.
13. Parents and Teachers are reminded that the safety of young people and their belongings are their responsibility during the Festival. Please refer to the Festival Safeguarding Policy which can be found on our website at www.mansfieldmusicdramafestival.co.uk
14. For Music entries with grade band classes entrants must enter the grade that they have just taken or are preparing to take. They must not enter a category below their current grade. Only one grade band may be entered for a particular instrument.
15. The Festival Committee reserves the right to re-grade pieces if appropriate.
16. In all relevant vocal classes lyrics should be age appropriate for performers under 16 years.
